Early Childhood Supports and Services (ECSS)

Supporting Young Children and Their Families

The early years in a child’s life plays an important role in emotional, social and behavioral development. DePaul’s’ Early Childhood Supports and Services (ECSS) program provides specialized mental health support for children ages 0–5 and their families. Services are provided by DePaul’s licensed mental health professionals experienced in working with young children and caregivers.

Our goal is to help families address concerns early, strengthen healthy development, and give caregivers the tools that they need to help their children thrive.

How ECSS Can Helpecss 1

ECSS supports children and families experiencing concerns related to behavior, trauma, emotional regulation, and social development. Services are designed to help reduce conduct challenges, enhance emotional and social skills, foster healthy brain development, and improve developmental and learning outcomes.

Our team also works with caregivers to grow parenting skills and stress management strategies that can impact the well-being of the entire family.

Family-Centered Support

At Depaul, we understand that every child and family is unique. Our team works closely with caregivers to better understand their needs and offer support that is personalized, compassionate, and focused on the whole family.

When additional services are required, families will also be connected with appropriate community resources to help address barriers that may affect a child’s development and overall well-being.

Services May Include:
  • Treatment for behavioral conditions
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Techniques to manage challenging or disruptive behaviors
  • Social and emotional development skills
  • Parent and caregiver guidance
  • Stress management for caregivers
  • Strategies to strengthen healthy parent-child relationships
  • Referrals to community resources

How Early Support Makes a Difference

ecss 2Early intervention can make a meaningful difference in a child’s development. Providing support during the first few years of a child’s life can help build stronger emotional and social skills, improve readiness for learning, and create a healthier foundation for their future growth.

DePaul believes in a person centered approach and treating the entire family unit. Our team is here to help families be informed, feel supported, and get connected to necessary resources.
