Better Sleep Starts at DePaul

Screenshot 2026-07-15 151021If you're struggling with snoring, daytime fatigue, or other sleep concerns, a sleep study can help uncover the cause. DePaul now offers convenient at-home sleep studies, allowing you to complete your sleep evaluation in the comfort of your own bed without spending the night in a sleep lab.

Our team will work with you every step of the way to evaluate your symptoms, determine if a sleep study is right for you, and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you get the quality sleep you deserve.

In-person appointments are available at our Algiers, Carrollton, Kenner, and New Orleans East locations. Depending on your care plan, follow-up appointments may also be available through virtual visits.

What Is a Sleep Study?

A sleep study is a non-invasive test that evaluates how you sleep and helps identify conditions that may be affecting your health.

Unlike traditional sleep studies that require an overnight stay at a sleep center, DePaul offers an at-home sleep study. You'll receive a comfortable ring monitor to wear while you sleep. The device collects information about your breathing, oxygen levels, heart rate, and sleep patterns throughout the night.

Most insurance plans cover at-home sleep studies. Approximately 80% of DePaul’s patients qualify. Our staff can help verify your coverage before your appointment.

Signs You May Benefit From a Sleep Study

You may be a candidate for a sleep study if you experience:
  • Loud or frequent snoring
  • Experiencing high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, heart conditions, obesity, etc.
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Waking up gasping or choking
  • Pauses in breathing during sleep
  • Difficulty staying asleep
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Fatigue despite getting a full night's sleep

What to Expect

Step 1: Sleep Consultation
Meet with our sleep study provider to discuss your symptoms, medical history, and sleep concerns.

Step 2: At-Home Sleep Study
If appropriate, you'll receive an easy-to-use home sleep study device to wear while sleeping in your own bed.

Step 3: Review Your Results
After your study is complete, the results are reviewed by a board-certified physician who specializes in interpreting sleep study results. Your DePaul provider will then discuss your results and recommend the next steps in your care.

Step 4: Ongoing Care
We'll continue working with you to monitor your progress, answer questions, and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Most patients have a follow-up visit after their sleep study and another follow-up approximately three months later.
